Video Case Archive

Classroom stories

The video case archive of the University of Graz

Classroom stories is a project that is carried out in cooperation with Austrian schools and aims to contribute to the qualitative improvement and support of teacher training and teaching research in the long term. This first Austrian video case archive provides higher education teachers and their students showing authentic scenes from everyday classroom life. The case archive contains video recordings of selected teaching situations, to support (future) teachers and researchers to engage analytically with teaching practice and to gain inspiration for their own teaching activities. The videos are teaching examples and sequences of different grade levels, school types and subjects with different thematic focuses. In addition, the teaching examples are supported by accompanying materials such as transcripts and, where available, working materials.

The project is funded through the University of Graz and directly supports the regional Teacher Training Network (development group South-East). The University of Leipzig is a cooperation partner in this project.

All recordings that can be found in the case archive are made in compliance with ethical standards. All persons depicted in the videos (or their legal guardians) have received information about this project and gave their consent to the production of the videos and use of materials in the case archive. Unlawful recordings and the unwanted distribution of the material, for example through social media, are expressly prohibited.
