TIMSS
Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study
The TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) is an international comparative study of educational achievement that aims to monitor and analyse long-term developments in the education systems of the participating countries. The TIMSS survey focuses on the assessment of students' mathematics and science achievement at the fourth and eighth grade. Prof. Dr. Heike Wendt served as Germany's national research coordinator for PIRLS/TIMSS 2011, TIMSS 2015 and PIRLS 2016 and is for TIMSS 2019 and 2023 serving in the consortium for the study component in Germany as well as in the International Questionnaire Development Group.
