Kinderleicht!

Lightweight Construction for Students Explained Easily

The new project “Kinderleicht!“ (05/2023 – 04/2025) started in May 2023 in cooperation with FH JOANNEUM. The project is supported by the FFG funding program “Talente Regional 2022” and aims to encourage students’ curiosity and joy of experimenting.

The goal of „Kinderleicht!“ is to introduce the topic of lightweight construction to students in the third and sixth grades in an age-appropriate way, regardless of their gender, educational or cultural background. Therefore, so-called Science Workshops are planned and developed using differentiated materials. These workshops will be created together with teachers and researchers from FH JOANNEUM and from the University of Graz (Inclusive Education Unit). In these Science Workshops, students from Graz and the Upper Styria will learn about lightweight construction and how it can be implemented. In addition, the students will visit companies such as HAGE Sondermaschinenbau GmbH and carbon-solutions Hintsteiner GmbH, as well as the Automotive Testing Lab of FH JOANNEUM.

„Kinderleicht!“ provides age-appropriate scientific and technical contexts for students, links educational institutions, universities and companies in Graz and Upper Styria, and shows students the training opportunities and career fields in automotive engineering. Female role models will be used to raise the awareness of girls for a career in the technical field.

At the end of the project, all materials will be available for free download. For more information, please visit the project website: https://kinderleicht.fh-joanneum.at/
